Episode #1 - Introduction

An introduction to Andy J. Lemon & JK Hooper as they present The Scholar's Corner, a history podcast. Avid podcast geeks themselves, they found it frustrating not being able to find influential figures in history on (free) audio format. Join them as they set out to deliver what they couldn't find... an animated guide through history of the audio world's overlooked and forgotten. Today they will highlight the show's mission along with a brief description of episodes to follow.


Episode #2 - George Washington

JK Hooper & Andy J. Lemon cover the life of George Washington. Starting with his early years to his presidency. This episode details his involvement with the French and Indian War, his contributions to farming, and inspirational stories from each battle he commanded in the Revolutionary war. They will discuss the precedents he set as president and how they have impacted the United States.


Episode #3 - John Adams

The Scholar's Corner takes a look into John Adams's life. Podcast episode #3 covers his life at Harvard, the impact he had on the Revolutionary War and at the Continental Conventions, his diplomacy in Europe, as first Vice President under George Washington, and as the second President of the United States.


Episode #4 - Thomas Jefferson

The Scholar's Corner dives into the life of Thomas Jefferson the third president of the United States, Second Vice President, Secretary of State, Minister to France, Governor of Virginia, author of the Declaration of Independence, founder of the University of Virginia, author of the Statute of Virginia for religious independence, philosopher, viticulturist, and architect.

Authored by Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, and Robert Livingston. The primary author is Thomas Jefferson, however, all the members of the 5 man drafting committee had a hand in editing the document.


Episode #5 - George Rogers Clark

Andy J. Lemon and J.K. Hooper discuss George Rogers Clark and the War in the West. Inspired by Lowell H. Harrison's book, the Scholar's Corner takes an in depth look at the role Clark played during the Revolutionary War. Clark was a skilled military leader and his use of psychological warfare has been studied by many great military leaders and historians. This podcast will cover the founding of Kentucky (as Clark is given credit for), the military campaign in Illinois, the story about the secret agent Francis Vigo, the military campaign at Vincennes Indiana in the dead of winter when the British had quartered their men, and the later years of Clark, where he is credited with founding Louisville, KY, Clarksville, IN, and Clark County Indiana.

The Scholar's Corner also has their first guest historian for this episode, Pamela Nolan, she is a park ranger at the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park in Vincennes.
